BIKE TRAVEL

Remember to book your bike slot online together with your ferry ticket (yes all bikes require a bike slot whether they are wheeled on to the ferry or packed in a bike box!).

Bike slot payment process: all athletes who have booked a return bike slot must pay SGD13 at the Batam Fast ticket counter at TMFT when collecting their ferry tickets.

You are NOT required to pack your bike in a box for the ferry. Your bike will be handled with care, however, we do advise you to protect your bike against scratches by wrapping your frame in bubble wrap or foam, and removing the following items from your bike to prevent loss or damage:

• All accessories and loose parts that can fall or be taken off e.g. bike computers, pouches, drink bottles, bike pumps, etc.
• Pedals (this will reduce the risk of damage to other bikes and help us to load the bikes neatly on the ferry).

For extra precaution, you are of course welcome to pack your bike in a bike box.

Please arrive 2 hours before departure at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore to allow plenty of time to complete your check-in.

Upon arrival proceed straight to the Batam Fast check-in desk and inform the staff which hotel you are staying at in Batam (or where you want your bike to go upon arrival), so you receive the appropriate bike luggage tag.  They will also give you a white bike tag for your return journey (keep it in a safe place because it will cost you $12 for a new one if lost!).

If you are staying at one of the event’s partner hotels, your bike will be transferred directly to your hotel from the Nongsa Ferry Terminal (and back again upon departure). There is no need for you to collect it at the ferry terminal upon arrival.

For the return ferry, please attach your white bike tag and hand your bike to your hotel 3 hours before departure to ensure your bike makes it onto the ferry on time. At the Nongsa Ferry Terminal you will only need to check in your regular luggage.

To book a bike slot please contact Customer Care at reservations@batamfast.com or WA at +62811 3800 2288 to confirm the arrangement at least 72 hours before trip departure detailing your ferry timings.

Those staying elsewhere must contact your hotel in advance. Most hotels will arrange for the transfers of you and your bike to and from the ferry terminal, but remember to tell them your itinerary in advance!

A lot of time and energy goes in to preparing for the race!  Give yourself the best chance of cycle leg success by visiting your local bike shop prior to the race.  They will give your bicycle a good tune up so you’re raring to go!

If you have a problem when you land on the island don’t panic, as we will have bike mechanics available from Friday to Sunday for last minute fixes and tuning!

Please be aware that major repairs and assembling or packing of bikes are chargeable, and subject to the mechanics time availability.
